For OS2 theme customers there is a universal setting (meaning it applies to all app blocks) to manage the display of brands that are considered out of stock.
By default this is set checked - to display all brands irrespective of stock levels of their underlying products.
The reason for this is that the products themselves are still visible and searchable on the online store channel and may be used to obtain wishlist and back in stock customer detail tracking or present alternative/upsell options.
When is a Product considers as Available on the Online Store Channel
Brands will naturally disappear from the brand page if they have no products available on the online store channel. For example the below Product status settings will not contribute to the brand being displayed.
How is a Brand determined to be Out of Stock
A Brand is considered to be out of stock when all products available on the online store channel with that specific vendor/brand name no longer have trackable inventory.
Note: This information is not dynamic and is gathered during the brand scanning process. This is due to the performance overhead of scanning large inventories previously impacting page load times.
